聰明靈秀，明末有名的“金陵八艷”之一。崇禎十一年，董小宛十六歲，冒辟疆認識了董小宛。又兩年，冒辟疆原屬意陳圓圓，稱其“令人欲仙欲死”，反疏遠了小宛。隔年，陳被李自成虜走，冒辟疆正式納十九歲的董小宛為妾，從此小宛“卻管弦，洗盡鉛華，精學女紅”。江南名妓知書，多傾慕東林，如李香君與侯方域、柳如是與錢謙益、卞玉京與吳偉業、顧眉生與龔鼎孳……。順治二年（1645年），清豫親王多鐸率軍渡江，攻破南京。冒辟疆在逃難中數度患病，董小宛辛苦侍疾，無微不至。順治八年（1651年），董小宛28歲，病死冒府。清初有四大疑案，許多人都將順治眷戀的董鄂妃說成是董小宛，據說順治出家是為了董小宛，這是沒有根據的。《影梅庵憶語》對董、冒二人從相識、完婚，到小宛病死，都有詳盡的記載。

Oil climbed towards $70 on world markets
